Nepal left-arm bowler Shubham Khanal was named Player of the Match for his spectacular bowling against Japan during the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup. Shubham took 5 wickets for 15 runs in 10 overs, including 3 maidens, as Nepal eased to a 9-wicket win.
Japan struggled against the aggressive bowling attack of Nepal and were bowled out for a total of 80 runs. Shubham’s economical and wicket-taking spells made it difficult for Japan’s batsmen to hold their end up and left them with a poor total.
This is the second consecutive victory for Nepal in the tournament. Earlier, Nepal had defeated Singapore in the first match. Nepal will face Indonesia on Sunday in their third match.
Chasing a modest target of 81 runs, Nepal scored the target in 14.2 overs with only 1 wicket loss. Team’s consistent batting along with good bowling by Shubham Khanal provided a confident win in all.
