Scotland vs Netherlands: In a thrilling final game of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series held in Scotland, Netherlands achieved a historic 4-wicket victory by chasing down a massive target of 370 runs with just four balls to spare. This run chase is now the highest ever in Associate cricket and the second-best in the overall history of One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The star of the record-breaking chase was Netherlands’ opener Max O’Dowd, who remained unbeaten on 158 runs. He received excellent support from Teja Nidamanuru, who scored 51 runs, and Noah Croes, who added a quick 50. Their efforts powered Netherlands to a winning total of 374/6 in 49.2 overs.

Earlier in the match, Scotland had posted an enormous 369/6 in their allotted 50 overs. George Munsey played a sensational innings, scoring 191 runs off 150 balls with 14 fours and 11 sixes. Unfortunately, he missed out on becoming the first Associate cricketer to score a double century in ODIs, getting bowled in the 49th over by Vivian Kingma. Nonetheless, Munsey now holds the record for the highest ODI score by a batter from an Associate nation, surpassing Calum MacLeod’s 175.

This game also marked the first time in ODI history that both innings featured openers scoring over 150 runs each, making it a truly historic contest. Matthew Cross contributed 59 runs for Scotland.

On the bowling front, Netherlands held their nerve despite the high-scoring environment. Aryan Dutt and Michael Levitt took two wickets apiece, while Vivian Kingma and Roelof van der Merwe claimed one wicket each.
