River Plate from Argentina delivered an impressive performance as they defeated Urawa Reds 3-1 in Group E of the FIFA Club World Cup on Tuesday night. Colidio opened the scoring for River Plate in the 12th minute, giving them an early lead in the match.
Sebastián Driussi doubled the advantage in the 48th minute with a well-timed goal, putting Urawa Reds under more pressure. Urawa tried to bounce back as Yūsuke Matsuo converted a penalty in the 58th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1.
However, River Plate responded again with Maximiliano Meza scoring the third goal in the 73rd minute, sealing a strong 3-1 victory for the Argentine side.
