The match saw Real Madrid take the lead in the 40th minute through Vinicius Junior., who calmly converted to open the scoring. Just before halftime, Federico Valverde doubled the lead with a goal assisted by Vinicius during injury time, giving Real a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Despite FC Salzburg’s efforts, they struggled to break through Real Madrid’s defense. In the 84th minute, Gonzalo García added the third goal for Real Madrid, sealing the victory in style.
Real Madrid collected 7 points from 3 games, finishing as Group H winners and advancing to the Club World Cup Round of 16. Saudi club Al Hilal secured the second spot with 5 points after a 2-0 win over Pachuca.
Meanwhile, Salzburg finished with 4 points, and Mexican side Pachuca exited the tournament with just 1 point.
