Nepal dominated their second match in the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cricket Tournament as left-arm spinner Shubham Khanal took five wickets to bowl out Japan for just 80 runs. After winning the toss, Japan chose to bat first but struggled throughout their innings. They were all out in 34.3 overs, with captain Charlie Hara-Hinze scoring the highest with 36 runs.
Shubham Khanal bowled a remarkable 10-over spell, conceding only 15 runs while claiming five key wickets. He was supported well by Abhay Yadav, who took two wickets, and Sushil Rawal and Bipin Prasad Sharma, who took one wicket each. Nepal’s bowling attack effectively dismantled Japan’s batting lineup.
This victory follows Nepal’s opening win against Singapore, where they won by five wickets. Nepal is competing in Group A of the tournament, alongside Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and Bhutan. The ACC U-16 East Zone Cup features a total of 10 teams.
Shubham Khanal excellent performance has strengthened Nepal’s chances in the tournament, giving the young team momentum as they look to continue their winning streak.
