Nepal U-16 squad departs for ACC U-16 East Zone Cup 2025 in Malaysia with a balanced 14-member team led by Bipin Prasad Sharma.
The Nepal U-16 cricket team has officially departed for the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup, which will begin in Malaysia on June 22, 2025. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) organized a farewell ceremony at its headquarters on Friday to send off the young team.
CAN treasurer Padam Bahadur Khadka praised the team, calling it well-balanced and full of potential. He wished them success and encouraged them to play with pride. Head coach Dipendra Bahadur Chand shared that the team had undergone intensive training, including competitions from district to national level, helping the players prepare thoroughly for the tournament.
Team captain Bipin Prasad Sharma expressed strong confidence, stating the team is in great shape and is ready to perform. He emphasized the unity and balance in the squad, which could be key to winning matches.
Nepal had previously won the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup 2025, and this time they aim to defend their title. The tournament is organized by the Asian Cricket Council and features U-16 teams from various East Asian nations.
CAN has announced the 14-member Nepal U-16 squad, led by Bipin Prasad Sharma. The vice-captain is Suryanshu Koirala. Other players include Shiwansh Bajgai, Parimarjan Yadav, Raunak Shrivastav, Abhay Yadav, Sachin Bhatta, Sugam Bhudhathoki, Suyog Bhattarai, Sushil Rawal, Shubham Khanal, Prasiddha Jaishi, Joy Thapa, and Roshan Shahi.
The ACC U-16 East Zone Cup 2025 is considered one of the most important youth cricket tournaments in Asia, offering young cricketers an international platform to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience.
