Nepal to compete in Top End T20 Series alongside Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A

Nepal is set to participate in the Top End T20 Series 2025 in Darwin, Australia, for the very first time. The series will run from July 14 to 24 and will act as a crucial preparation opportunity for Nepal ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers in October.

The Top End T20 Series will feature a total of 11 teams, including four international teams—Nepal, Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan A), Bangladesh A, and one yet to be confirmed. Six Australian domestic teams and a local team, NT Strike, will also participate in the event. This diverse competition will provide Nepal a chance to play against experienced sides on Australian pitches.

The Pakistan Shaheens team has previously included notable players like Haider Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Abdul Samad. From the Bangladesh A team, players like Mohammad Naim and Towhid Hridoy have made appearances in earlier editions. Facing off against these experienced cricketers will be a valuable learning experience for Nepal’s players.

Nepal is expected to play at least six T20 matches in this series. The games will be hosted at Darwin’s DXC Arena, TIO Stadium, and Kazaly Arena. According to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), this series will not only help players adjust to international conditions but also boost their confidence for upcoming tournaments.

After this series, Nepal will also play a historic T20I series against West Indies in September. That will be followed by their participation in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier in October. With regular international exposure, Nepal hopes to improve its performance and aim for a spot in the main tournament.

Last year’s edition of the Top End T20 Series was broadcast in over 129 countries and attracted millions of viewers. With the involvement of teams like Nepal this time, the tournament is expected to draw even greater global attention.
