The Nepali national cricket team, currently touring Scotland for the fourth round of the ICC World Cup League 2, faced a defeat against Scotland ‘A’.
In Thursday’s match, Nepal lost to Scotland ‘A’ by a wide margin of 102 runs. With this loss, Scotland ‘A’ has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match warm-up series.
Chasing a target of 221 runs, Nepal was bowled out for just 118 runs. The second warm-up match is scheduled for Saturday, May 31 (Jestha 17).
In the fourth round of League 2, Nepal will face hosts Scotland and the Netherlands. The League 2, which features eight participating teams, is part of the qualification pathway for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027. Each team will play three matches against every other team during the series.
At the end of the league, the top four teams will directly qualify for the Global Qualifier of the World Cup, while the bottom four teams will advance to the World Cup Qualifier Play-off.
Nepal currently sits at the bottom of the table with 6 points from 12 matches. Scotland, which will play against Nepal in this round, is in fourth place with 20 points from 16 matches. Meanwhile, the Netherlands holds second place with 26 points from 20 matches.

After the League 2 matches, a T20I Tri-Nation Series featuring Nepal, Scotland, and the Netherlands will begin from Sunday, June 15 (Asar 1).
