Nepal ended their journey as runners-up in the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship after suffering a 4-0 defeat against hosts Bangladesh in the final match on Monday.
This match was crucial for Nepal, as only a win could have secured them the title. However, they came under pressure early and struggled to recover after conceding an early goal.
Despite efforts to bounce back, Nepal eventually conceded four goals and missed the chance to lift the trophy.
The tournament was played in a double round-robin format among four teams: Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. While Nepal secured victories in both matches against Bhutan and Sri Lanka, they lost both encounters against Bangladesh.
Nepal had earlier lost 3-2 in their first match against Bangladesh. In Monday’s decisive clash, they failed to score and suffered a heavy 4-0 loss.
