Jannik Sinner, the top seed, has won his first Wimbledon title by defeating Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in a thrilling final. This marks Sinner’s first Grand Slam win on grass courts. Just 35 days ago, Sinner lost to Alcaraz in the French Open final despite leading by two sets. Alcaraz saved three championship points to win that match, making this Wimbledon victory even more special for Sinner.
Sinner called this Wimbledon success one of the biggest dreams of his life. After returning from a three-month ban earlier this year, this is his fourth Grand Slam title overall, but his first outside of hard courts.
