Janashakti Youth Club Nawalparasi pulled off a surprising 1-0 victory against Star Sports Youth Club Madi in the ongoing Bharatpur 24 Gold Cup at the Siddhartha Secondary School ground. The tightly contested match saw no goals in the first half, but the game came alive right after halftime.
Just one minute into the second half, Nir Bahadur Thapa found the back of the net with a calm finish, thanks to an assist from Suraj Chaudhary. Thapa’s goal proved decisive, knocking out the defending champions and earning him the Player of the Match title.
The tournament, organized by the Bharatpur-24 Consumer Committee, features eight teams and will continue until Jestha 31. The winning team will be awarded a trophy and Rs. 3,03,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs. 1,75,000.
In the next match on Monday, Paradise Youth Club Sisuwar Ratnanagar will face Rampur Football Club Ruds. The game is set to kick off at 4 PM.
