The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 schedule has been officially announced. The tournament will take place in England from June 12 to July 5, 2026, and for the first time in history, it will feature 12 participating teams. A total of 33 matches will be played across seven major venues in the country.
The 12 teams are divided into two groups. Group 1 includes five-time champions Australia, South Africa (runners-up in 2024), India, Pakistan, and two teams who will qualify through the Global Qualifiers. Group 2 features host England, defending champions New Zealand, Sri Lanka, former winners West Indies, and two more teams from the qualifiers.
The tournament will kick off on June 12 with an exciting opening match between England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston Stadium. From each group, the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled on June 30 and July 2 at The Oval in London. The grand final will take place on July 5 at the world-famous Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The matches will be played in seven venues across England: Edgbaston, The Hampshire Bowl, Headingley, Old Trafford, The Oval, Bristol County Ground, and Lord’s. These historic grounds will host a mix of group stage and knockout games during the 24-day competition.
Meanwhile, the Nepal women’s cricket team will participate in the Global Qualifiers for the first time ever. After topping the Asia Region Qualifier last month, Nepal secured their place among the global contenders. Four teams from the Global Qualifiers will earn a spot in the main tournament.
This edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup marks a significant milestone for women’s cricket. With 12 nations competing, including rising teams like Nepal, the 2026 tournament promises to be more competitive and exciting than ever before.
