Brazilian football giant Flamengo started their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory over Tunisian club ES Tunis in the Group D match. The win gives Flamengo a strong start as they aim to advance in the tournament.
The opening goal came early in the 17th minute when Uruguayan midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta scored, assisted by forward Luiz Araujo. Flamengo extended their lead in the 70th minute with Araujo himself scoring from a pass by Jorginho, sealing a comfortable victory for the Brazilian side.
Flamengo controlled the ball throughout the game and did not allow ES Tunis many opportunities. The Tunisian team managed only two shots on target, one of which was brilliantly saved by Flamengo’s goalkeeper Agustin Rossi.
With this win, Flamengo secured 3 points and now prepares to face English club Chelsea, who also won their opening Group D match. The clash between Flamengo and Chelsea will be a key game in deciding the group’s top spot.
