The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 quarterfinal lineup is now complete following the round of 16 matches held in the United States. Borussia Dortmund secured their spot in the last eight after defeating CF Monterrey 2-1 on Wednesday morning.
Serhou Guirassy was the standout performer for Dortmund, scoring both goals in the first half. He found the net in the 14th and 24th minutes, giving Dortmund a strong 2-0 lead before the break.
CF Monterrey made a comeback attempt in the second half, with German Berterame scoring in the 48th minute to reduce the deficit. However, it wasn’t enough to turn the game around, and Borussia Dortmund advanced with a 2-1 victory.
With this win, Borussia Dortmund will now take on Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The other quarterfinal fixtures include Bayern Munich vs PSG, Al Hilal vs Fluminense, and Chelsea vs Palmeiras.
The final match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is scheduled for July 10, with top clubs from around the world competing for the global crown.
