The Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League is making headlines once again as it prepares for its much-awaited second edition. Organized by Infinity Dreams, the league is set to introduce Nepal’s first-ever player auction system in women’s volleyball—marking a new chapter in the sport’s professional development.
The historic auction will take place on Shrawan 2 at 3 PM at Hotel Soaltee, Kathmandu. This auction comes as part of the build-up to the second season of the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League, which is scheduled to begin from Bhadra 20.
This year, six franchise teams will take part in the auction:
- Karnali Yashvis
- Lalitpur Queens
- Kathmandu Spikers
- Madhesh United
- Pokhara Ninjas
- Lumbini Lavas
A total of 68 players have been listed for the auction. These athletes are divided into three categories: A, B, and C. Each team must pick:
- 1 player from Category A
- 3 players from Category B
- 3 players from Category C
Out of the 13 players in Category A, teams have already selected their marquee players. The remaining 7 will be up for grabs in the auction. Category B includes 43 players, while Category C features 18.
If any player goes unsold, they will be moved to a lower category for a second chance in the selection process.
According to the organizers, this auction is expected to introduce a new chapter of professionalism and competition in Nepali women’s volleyball.
