Cristiano Ronaldo has officially signed a new two-year contract with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, securing an annual income of over £178 million (approximately NPR 30.26 billion). This fresh deal silences speculation about his return to European football.
Just weeks ago, reports hinted that Ronaldo’s journey with Al-Nassr might be over. Despite being the league’s top scorer for two straight seasons, he couldn’t lead the team to a title or qualify them for the FIFA Club World Cup. Many believed he was planning to finish his career elsewhere. However, Al-Nassr recently confirmed on social media that “Cristiano Ronaldo will remain with Al-Nassr until 2027.”
According to media sources, Ronaldo’s new deal includes multiple bonuses and benefits, making it one of the most lucrative contracts in football history. The key terms of the contract include a £24.5 million signing bonus and private jet expenses, which will rise to £38 million in the second year. He will receive an £8 million bonus if Al-Nassr wins the Saudi Pro League, and £5 million if they win the AFC Champions League. If Ronaldo becomes the league’s top scorer and wins the Golden Boot, he will earn an additional £4 million.
The deal also grants him 15% ownership of Al-Nassr, valued around £33 million. For every goal he scores, he’ll receive £80,000 (with a 20% increase in the second year), and £40,000 for every assist, also with a 20% raise in year two. Ronaldo will also benefit from £60 million worth of sponsorship deals, and the club will cover £4 million in private jet expenses.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in 2023 and has since inspired many international stars to move to Saudi Arabia. A representative from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which manages major Saudi clubs like Al-Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli, said Ronaldo’s presence significantly contributed to the league’s rapid development and opened doors for global talent.
After the recent season ended with Al-Nassr finishing third and without a trophy, Ronaldo had posted, “This chapter is over,” on social media.
However, with the signing of this new deal, a new chapter begins—not in Europe, but in Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo remains the face of the Saudi Pro League.
