Chet Narayan Shrestha Appointed Head Coach for SAFF U-17 Women's Championship 2025

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed Chet Narayan Shrestha as the head coach of the Nepal women’s team for the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship 2025, which is set to begin on August 20 in Bhutan.

The appointment was made official on Thursday at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, where ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai handed over the appointment letter to Shrestha. An experienced coach, Shrestha has previously worked with various age-group women’s national teams.

The SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship 2025 will be held from August 20 to 31 at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan. Four teams—Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan—will compete in a double round-robin league format. This means each team will face the others twice, and the team with the highest points at the end will be crowned champion.

The match schedule was released on Wednesday, confirming that Nepal will play their opening match against India on August 20.

With the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship 2025 just weeks away, Nepal will be aiming to showcase young talent and build momentum in the regional scene under the guidance of coach Chet Narayan Shrestha. His previous experience with youth women’s squads makes him a strong fit for the team’s ambitions in Bhutan.
