The ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2025, originally scheduled to begin on June 6 in Sri Lanka, has been officially postponed. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) made this decision following a formal request from Sri Lanka Cricket due to worsening weather conditions and a rising outbreak of chikungunya in the region.

Nepal, which was set to participate in the tournament, will now have to wait for new dates to compete. According to reports, Sri Lanka Cricket Board President Shammi Silva wrote to ACC President Mohsin Raza Naqvi, citing the growing health risks and unstable weather as key concerns. Based on this communication, the ACC reviewed the situation and decided to reschedule the tournament.

ACC President Mohsin Raza Naqvi emphasized the importance of the tournament, stating, “Our top priority is the promotion of women’s cricket and the development of emerging players. The ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2025 plays a crucial role in the future of women’s cricket in Asia, and we are committed to organizing it at the earliest possible time.”

The ACC has not yet confirmed the new dates for the tournament but has promised to announce them soon. It also thanked all participating teams, sponsors, players, and stakeholders for their understanding and support.
