Nepali batter Aarif Sheikh was named Player of the Match after delivering a standout performance against the Netherlands in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. Held on Tuesday in Dundee, Scotland, the match saw Nepal register a 16-run victory, continuing their strong run in the tournament.

Aarif played a crucial role with the bat, scoring 84 runs from 85 balls. His innings featured 7 boundaries and 2 sixes, anchoring Nepal’s total at a critical point in the game. This marked his ninth ODI half-century, showcasing his ability to perform consistently under pressure.

Beyond his batting, Aarif also contributed in the field by taking a key catch to dismiss Dutch batter Paul van Meekeren, which proved instrumental in turning the match in Nepal’s favor.

This is the second time in a row that Aarif Sheikh has been awarded Player of the Match against the Netherlands. In their previous encounter, he had also played a match-winning knock, highlighting his vital presence in the team.

Nepal posted a total of 237 runs, and the Netherlands were bowled out for 220 in 49.2 overs, falling short of the target by 16 runs. Aarif’s all-round contribution played a defining role in Nepal’s success.
