The Himalayan Java Basketball League (HJBL) final game is scheduled for Saturday, Ashadh 7, 2025. According to the organizer, Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA), the final will take place at the Nepal Army Physical Training Center’s covered hall in Lagankhel.
The final will see a thrilling contest between Golden Gate Basketball Club and Times Basketball Club. These two teams topped the league standings after a double round-robin format involving six teams.
Previously, all league matches were played at the Kirtipur Covered Hall. However, NEBA President Bhim Singh Gurung confirmed that the final and the third-place playoff will be held in Lagankhel, offering fans a better experience.
Final and Third-Place Match Schedule
The playoffs on Saturday will include two matches: the third-place match at 11:00 AM and the final at 3:30 PM. Both matches will be held at the Nepal Army’s covered hall in Lagankhel.
GoldenGate secured the first position, while Times finished second in the league stage. Meanwhile, Hounds and Kirtipur Basketball Club placed third and fourth, respectively, and will compete for third place.
GoldenGate and Times’ Journey to the Final
GoldenGate showed an impressive performance throughout the league, winning 9 out of 10 games and finishing with 19 points, topping the standings. After losing to Times in their first match, GoldenGate went on to win 9 consecutive games. They also avenged their earlier loss by defeating Times in the second round.
Times secured the second spot with 17 points, winning 7 matches and losing 3. Times had a rough mid-season due to some players participating in other tournaments but managed to win their last three games consecutively to confirm their place in the final.
Hounds also finished with 17 points but lost out to Times based on head-to-head results. Kirtipur finished fourth with 13 points after winning 3 games and losing 7.
