Al Ahly vs Inter Miami: The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 kicked off with an exciting but goalless draw between Egypt’s Al Ahly and the USA’s Inter Miami. Although neither team scored, the match was filled with intensity and several close chances.
Oscar Ustari, Inter Miami’s goalkeeper, stood out with eight saves, including a vital penalty stop in the first half. Al Ahly kept the pressure high but couldn’t convert their chances into goals.
Inter Miami responded strongly in the second half. Lionel Messi came close to scoring twice—once with a free kick that hit the side netting, and another shot that crashed off the crossbar, narrowly missing the target.
With the 0-0 result, both teams now hold 1 point in Group A. They return to action on June 19, with Inter Miami facing Porto and Al Ahly playing against Palmeiras.
This year’s FIFA Club World Cup is the biggest in history, featuring 32 teams for the first time. The tournament runs from June 14 to July 13 across various U.S. cities, marking a new era in global club football.
