Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has officially signed for Italian club SSC Napoli after parting ways with Manchester City at the end of the Premier League season.
Napoli Welcomes the ‘King Kev’
Napoli, now managed by former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, announced the signing by declaring: “King Kev has arrived!” The 33-year-old joins the Italian side on a free transfer and is expected to strengthen their midfield for the upcoming season, which includes Champions League football.
Turned Down Chicago Fire for Champions League Dream
Reports confirm that Kevin De Bruyne rejected an offer from MLS side Chicago Fire, preferring to continue playing at the highest level in Europe.
A Glorious Decade with Manchester City
De Bruyne joined Manchester City in 2015 from Wolfsburg and spent an incredible 10 seasons with the English giants. During his time at City, he helped the club win 19 major trophies, including:

- 5 League Cups

- 1 UEFA Champions League (2023)
He played a key role in City’s historic treble-winning season, making them just the second English club to achieve this feat.
Emotional Farewell at Etihad
The midfielder had already announced his decision to leave before the season ended. He gave a tearful goodbye during City’s final home game against Bournemouth. He also made a short appearance in their last match of the season against Fulham.
