In the opening match of the third edition of Major League Cricket (MLC), New Zealand’s explosive batsman Finn Allen made headlines by breaking the record for the most sixes in a single T20 innings. Playing for the San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom, Allen smashed an incredible 19 sixes.
Record-Breaking Innings: 19 Sixes and 151 Runs
Finn Allen scored a blazing 151 runs off just 51 balls before getting out. His power hitting helped the Unicorns post a massive total of 269 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. A total of 28 sixes were hit in the innings, with Allen responsible for the majority.
Previous Records and Finn Allen Explosive Form
Before Allen’s record-breaking innings, the highest number of sixes in a single T20 innings was 18, jointly held by Chris Gayle and Sahil Chauhan. Gayle hit 18 sixes during the Bangladesh Premier League, while Chauhan matched that number against Cyprus in a T20 International.
Allen had already showcased his big-hitting ability in international cricket, hitting 16 sixes in a T20I against Pakistan.
