The Nepal national football team has returned home after playing two international matches — a friendly against Hong Kong and an AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Laos. The squad arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday night, where All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) officials welcomed them at Tribhuvan International Airport.
In the friendly match, Nepal held Hong Kong to a goalless draw, showcasing a solid defensive performance that provided encouragement ahead of the competitive fixture. However, the team could not replicate the same result in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier.
Playing on Laos’ home ground, the Nepal football team faced a disappointing 2-1 defeat. This loss was especially notable as it marked Nepal’s first-ever defeat to Laos in football history.
Despite the results, the players and coaching staff were warmly received by ANFA officials, recognizing their efforts and international exposure. The focus now shifts to upcoming training and matches, with the team looking to bounce back stronger in future competitions.
