England clean sweeps West Indies in T20I series after securing a 37-run win in the third and final match held in Southampton. With this result, England wrapped up the three-match series 3–0.
After losing the toss, England was invited to bat first and delivered a spectacular performance by posting 248/3 in their 20 overs. Opener Ben Duckett played a brilliant innings of 84 runs off just 46 balls, hitting 10 fours and 2 sixes. He was later awarded Player of the Match for his explosive knock. Jamie Smith also impressed with 60 runs from 26 balls, smashing 4 boundaries and 5 sixes. Their partnership of 120 runs in just 8.5 overs gave England a flying start. Additional contributions came from Jos Buttler (22), Harry Brook (35), and Jacob Bethell (36), helping England reach a massive total. On the bowling side, Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie, and Sherfane Rutherford each took one wicket for West Indies.
In reply, West Indies fought hard but managed only 211/8 in 20 overs, falling short by 37 runs. Captain Rovman Powell led the chase with a fighting 79* off 45 balls, which included 9 fours and 4 sixes. Shai Hope scored 45 off 27, while Shimron Hetmyer (26), Jason Holder (25), and Johnson Charles and Evin Lewis (9 each) also added runs, but the target proved too high. England’s bowling unit performed well, with Luke Wood picking up 3 wickets, Adil Rashid grabbing 2, and Brydon Carse, Liam Dawson, and Jacob Bethell taking one each.
With a total of 165 runs in the series, former skipper Jos Buttler was named Player of the Series. This result confirms that England clean sweeps West Indies in T20I series, gaining strong confidence heading into their upcoming fixtures.
