Bharatpur Football Club (BFC) started their campaign in the Fourth Penguin Bharatpur 24 Gold Cup Football Tournament with an impressive 2-1 comeback win over Bharatpur Sports Development Committee. With this victory in the tournament’s opening match, Bharatpur Football Club advanced directly to the semifinals.
The match took place at the Siddhartha School Ground. Bharatpur 24 took the lead in the 50th minute through Dhirendra Shah. However, BFC bounced back quickly. In the 58th minute, Sajin Magar leveled the score with a composed finish.
As the match headed into injury time, Sujit Budathoki scored the winning goal, completing a thrilling comeback for Bharatpur Football Club. For his key performance and crucial equalizer, Sajin Magar was awarded the Player of the Match title.
The Penguin Bharatpur 24 Gold Cup continues tomorrow, with defending champions Star Sports Club Madi set to face Janashakti Youth Club Nawalparasi. The game will kick off at 4 PM.
The tournament is organized by the Bharatpur 24 Gold Cup Consumer Committee and features eight teams. It will run until Jestha 31. The champion will receive a trophy and NPR 3.03 lakh, while the runner-up will take home NPR 1.75 lakh.
