Nepal National Football Team has officially departed for their upcoming matches against Hong Kong and Laos. A farewell event was held at the ANFA headquarters in Satdobato on Monday, where Youth and Sports Minister Tej Lal Chaudhary gave his best wishes to the team and encouraged them to perform well while representing the country.
Nepal will play a friendly match against Hong Kong on June 5. According to ANFA, this match is aimed at giving the team international exposure and preparing them for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifier. The team will then face Laos on June 10 in the important AFC Asian Cup Qualifying match.
Head coach Matt Ross announced the final 23-player squad for these matches on the same day. The squad includes two new faces: Kushal Deuba and Srijan Raj Gautam, who will be hoping to make their mark in the national team.
Minister Chaudhary expressed his confidence in the team and emphasized the importance of these international fixtures for the development of football in Nepal.
