England has won the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 title, defeating Spain 3-1 in a penalty shootout in the final held last night.
The match ended 1-1 after regular and extra time. Spain took the lead in the 25th minute through Mariona Caldentey. England equalized in the 57th minute with a goal from Alessia Russo.
In the penalty shootout, England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton saved two of Spain’s shots, helping her team secure the victory.
This is England’s first major title won on foreign soil.
