American professional wrestler Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71. WWE confirmed that he passed away due to a heart attack.

Hogan’s real name was Terry Gene Bollea. He began his wrestling career in 1977 and became one of the biggest names in the 1980s and 1990s.

He adopted the name “Hulk” after fans compared him to the muscular character from the TV show The Incredible Hulk. In 1979, he joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) and added “Hogan” to become Hulk Hogan.

Known for his red-and-yellow outfit, entrance song “Real American,” and a huge fanbase called “Hulkamaniacs,” Hogan became a wrestling icon. He remained active in wrestling until the age of 50 and also appeared in TV shows and movies.

WWE expressed deep sorrow over his passing and said Hogan will always be remembered in wrestling history.
