Nepal Premier League 2025 Matches to Be Played Under Floodlights

Cricket matches of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will also be played under floodlights.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka shared this news during a podcast with the franchise team Sudurpaschim Royals. He mentioned that matches will be held under lights at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama also confirmed the plan. He told Media, “The TU Cricket Ground is currently under renovation. If the work is completed on time and the ground is ready, the matches will be played under floodlights.”

The second edition of NPL is scheduled for November–December this year. A mini auction for the tournament is also planned for August.

The player registration process for the auction has already ended. Lama said that the final list of players will be published in a few days and the auction date will be announced soon.

Currently, the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur is being upgraded. In the first phase, construction work includes building a parapet with a seating capacity of 15,000 and installing six floodlights.

As the construction was not completed within the initial deadline (end of Ashadh), the contractor has been fined and given an extended deadline to finish the work.
