Nepal’s veteran footballer Rohit Chand has been included in the Asia Warriors FC squad, a unique initiative led by Japanese football legend Keisuke Honda.
Launched in 2025, Asia Warriors FC brings together top Asian footballers with the mission of spreading messages of peace, unity, and hope through friendly matches. The team is co-founded by Honda and Filipino football icon Anto0n Del Rosario, aiming to foster a friendly football environment across Asia.
Under this project, Asia Warriors FC has planned two friendly matches. The first match took place on July 20 against Persik Kediri at Bravijaya Stadium, where the Warriors suffered a 2-0 defeat.
The second match is scheduled for July 27 at the MBPJ Stadium in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, against Selangor FC. Rohit Chand has been selected for this game and is likely to feature in the playing eleven.
This powerful initiative by Honda and Del Rosario highlights how football can go beyond the pitch, promoting cross-border friendship and social harmony. Rohit Chand’s inclusion in Asia Warriors FC not only brings pride to Nepali football but also reflects Asia’s growing unity through sport.
