Kajal Shrestha, the international Taekwondo referee and South Asian Games gold medalist, has been honored as the best referee at the World Taekwondo Hanmadang event. The competition was held in California, USA, from July 17 to 19.
Kajal excelled as the lead referee in both Gyorugi and Poomsae events during the tournament. The event saw the participation of 80 referees from around the world and hosted 1,700 athletes representing 30 countries.
Prior to this, Kajal also served as a referee at the Australian Open and the Wata Open Taekwondo competitions held in Japan in 2024 and 2025. She was also named the best referee at the 2025 Wata Open.
Kajal Shrestha continues to bring pride to Nepal by excelling internationally as a top referee in Taekwondo.
