EIA process for Fapla International Cricket Stadium completed

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has expressed great enthusiasm following the completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the acquisition of all necessary legal approvals for the much-anticipated Fapla International Cricket Stadium and Sports Village in Dhangadhi—also known as the “City of Cricket.”

Highlighting the significance of the project, Minister Deuba said it will fulfill the long-cherished dream of the people of Sudurpaschim: to witness international-level cricket right from their own hometown. According to her, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and all technical groundwork have already been finalized.

“We are confident that the dream stadium of the people of Sudurpaschim—the aspiration to watch international cricket from their own homes—will soon be realized,” she shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.

Minister Deuba emphasized that the stadium and sports village are expected to generate local employment, attract tourism, and stimulate regional economic growth. “This historic project will not only uplift cricket but also mark the beginning of a new era in sports, sports tourism, and overall economic development in the region,” she added.

She further noted that the project will elevate Nepal’s sporting infrastructure and provide Sudurpaschim with a platform for international recognition.
