Rising young cricketer Sushil Rawal has received Rs 1 lakh in financial support from the franchise team Sudurpaschim Royals to help fund his training for the U-19 national selection in India. Rawal was discovered through a talent hunt program and later earned a place in Nepal’s U-16 national cricket team. He was part of the squad that recently won the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup in Malaysia, where he impressed with 4 wickets in 3 matches.
To cover his U-19 training expenses in India, Sushil Rawal made a public appeal through social media, stating that he needed around Rs 1 lakh. Responding to his appeal, Sudurpaschim Royals CEO Prakash Khadka handed over the full amount on Friday. The franchise praised Rawal’s dedication and potential, writing on social media, “We believe in your discipline, commitment, and hard work. This is just the beginning. Dream big, Sushil Rawal. The Sudurpaschim Royals family will always stand with you.”
Originally from Bajhang, Rawal now lives in Gajmuni, Shuklaphanta Municipality-5, Kanchanpur. His journey from rural Nepal to the national cricket stage has inspired many young athletes. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has also announced a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for each member of the victorious U-16 team. In addition, several individuals have stepped up to support Sushil Rawal’s dream of representing Nepal at the U-19 level and beyond.
