Nepali Players to Compete in Malaysia’s Davis Cup Tennis Tournament

Nepali tennis players are set to compete in the Davis Cup tennis tournament in Malaysia. The competition will take place from July 16 to July 19 in Kuala Lumpur.

A six-member Nepali tennis team, including four players, will depart for Malaysia on Sunday. The team members are Pradip Khadka, Pranav Manandhar, Nisan Shrestha, and Ayushman Hajur Ghale. The coach is Jitendra Pariyar, and the team manager is Jayjeev Hada.

Davis Cup Group 4 Tournament Details

The Davis Cup Group 4 tournament features eight participating countries: Nepal, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pacific Oceania, Qatar, Iraq, and the Philippines. These teams are divided into two groups for the competition.

The top two teams from each group will play in the promotion playoffs, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete in relegation playoffs.

Nepali Team Farewell

The Nepali tennis team was seen off at a farewell event on Friday by Youth and Sports Minister Tej Lal Chaudhary, Executive Committee member of the National Sports Council Kamal Bahadur Bhattarai, and Manohardas Mull, Coordinator of the Nepal Tennis Association’s interim committee.
