The Nepal Premier League 2025 is already heating up as defending champions Janakpur Bolts have officially announced their list of retained players. The team has secured seven top talents, aiming to defend their crown in the second season of NPL.
Aasif Sheikh Retained as Star Player
Star opener Aasif Sheikh has been retained as the marquee player for Janakpur Bolts. Joining him are six other vital players who played key roles in the previous season.

Rupesh Singh had missed the last season due to injury, which led to Mayan Yadav being brought into the squad temporarily. Rupesh has since made his T20I debut for the senior Nepal team.
Champions Eye Back-to-Back NPL Titles
Janakpur Bolts clinched the Nepal Premier League title in 2024 by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in the final. With their core lineup intact, the team is eyeing back-to-back championships.
All Teams Gear Up for Mini Auction
So far, other franchises like Chitwan Rhinos, Sudurpaschim Royals, Pokhara Avengers, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Lumbini Lions, and Karnali Yaks have already released their NPL 2025 retention lists.
According to NPL rules, teams are allowed to retain up to six players excluding the marquee. A mini-auction for the upcoming season is expected to take place in August 2025.
