Pokhara Avengers have officially announced their list of retained players for the NPL 2025 second season. The franchise shared the update on Sunday via social media.

As expected, Pokhara have kept their marquee player and captain Kushal Bhurtel, who played a crucial role last season. His leadership will be vital again as the team prepares for another strong run in the Nepal Premier League.

Alongside Bhurtel, Pokhara have retained six more players—Dinesh Kharel, Bipin Khatri, Sagar Dhakal, Kiran Thagunna, Akash Chand, and Trit Raj Das. According to NPL rules, franchises are allowed to retain one marquee player and up to six additional players for the upcoming season. Pokhara have maximized their quota by keeping all seven, showing confidence in their core squad.

Meanwhile, the team has released several players ahead of the season—Dilip Nath, Akash Chand, Narayan Joshi, Amrit Gurung, and Sunam Gautam. Notably, Sunam had missed the first season due to injury and has now been released.

Before Pokhara’s announcement, four other franchises—Sudurpaschim Royals, Chitwan Rhinos, and Lumbini Lions—had already made public the names of their retained players for NPL 2025.

The second season of the Nepal Premier League is getting closer, and a mini auction is scheduled for July. All teams will get the chance to add fresh talent to complete their squads and prepare for another exciting season of cricket.
