Kathmandu Sports Events Pvt. Ltd. has officially announced the Indoor Premier League, Nepal’s first auction-based indoor cricket tournament. The event will take place from Bhadra 23 to 28, 2082 (September 8–13, 2025) at Royal Sports Park, Chunikhel, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. This announcement was made during a press conference held on Thursday.

The Indoor Premier League marks a major milestone for indoor cricket in Nepal by introducing a professional, franchise-style format. For the first time in the country’s indoor cricket history, players will be selected through a structured auction system. Players will be categorized into Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C, with each franchise team required to include one Marquee Player—someone who has represented Nepal at any official national or age-level team.

Players interested in participating must fill out a registration form to be eligible for the auction. The registration process and detailed instructions will be shared by the organizers soon.

According to Tournament Director Jyoti Bhandari, the tournament has been designed to promote cricket culture in Nepal, provide financial and professional opportunities for grassroots players, and create a competitive platform for young and emerging talents. Additionally, it aims to attract private investment and foster franchise development within Nepal’s sports industry.

The organizer, Kathmandu Sports Events Pvt. Ltd., is known for hosting transparent and inclusive cricket events. It strives to bridge the gap between local talent and professional pathways while supporting the growth of cricket at all levels.
