Nepal national cricket team captain Rohit Paudel will continue to stay with Lumbini Lions for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025. It is his second consecutive season with the team.
Lumbini Lions confirmed Rohit’s presence before announcing their retained players list. They posted his photo on Facebook and asked fans to guess the other five retained players. In the first season of the NPL, Rohit was the marquee player of the team.
Some of the other players who were part of the Lumbini team last season are Sundeep Jora, Bibek Yadav, Surya Tamang, Arjun Saud, Aashutosh Ghiraiya, Tilak Raj Bhandari, Durgesh Gupta, Abhishek Gautam, Dinesh Adhikari, and Vikash Agri. Five of them and Rohit will probably be retained in Season 2.
According to NPL rules, a franchise can retain a maximum of six players. Sudurpaschim Royals and Chitwan Rhinos have already announced their retained list with six players. Lumbini Lions are also going to announce their full retention list.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has arranged a mini auction in July as part of the NPL 2025 preparations. Before the auction, the retained players’ list will be released officially by all the franchises.
