PSG Enter FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16

French giants PSG have entered the FIFA Club World Cup last 16 after defeating Seattle Sounders 2-0 in their final Group B match. With this result, PSG topped the group and advanced confidently to the knockout stage.

In the decisive group match, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Achraf Hakimi scored for PSG to secure the win over American club Seattle Sounders. PSG’s earlier 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid had already boosted their goal difference, which played a crucial role in their group victory.

Atletico Madrid, despite winning 1-0 against Botafogo through Antoine Griezmann’s late goal, failed to qualify. All three teams—PSG, Botafogo, and Atletico—finished with 6 points, but goal difference determined the standings.

Botafogo advanced as the second-placed team, having earlier defeated PSG 1-0, while Atletico Madrid’s journey ended in the group stage due to an inferior goal difference.

Final Group B standings were: PSG with 6 points and +6 goal difference, Botafogo with 6 points and +1, and Atletico Madrid with 6 points and 0. PSG’s overall dominance ensured their top spot and progress to the next round of the FIFA Club World Cup.
