Al Ahly’s Wessam Abou Ali was the star of the night, scoring a stunning hat-trick with goals in the 15th, 45+1st, and 51st minutes. His teammate Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane added a fourth goal in the 64th minute. Despite those efforts, the Egyptian side couldn’t secure the victory.
Porto fought back with goals from Rodrigo Mora (23′), William Gomes (50′), Samu Aghehowa (53′), and a late strike from veteran Pepe in the 89th minute to seal the 4-4 draw.
Even with the high-scoring result, both Porto and Al Ahly were eliminated from the tournament. They finished with just 2 points from 3 matches, while Inter Miami and Palmeiras advanced from the group with 5 points each.
