Hisense Nepal SAIM Inter College Futsal Tournament to Feature 28 Teams

The Hisense Nepal SAIM Inter College Futsal Tournament 2025 is kicking off on Wednesday with 28 boys’ teams from various bachelor-level semester colleges participating. Organized by SAIM College, this is the first edition of the 7-a-side futsal event. The matches will take place over three days at Royal Nepal Futsal, located in Divyeshwori Planning, Bhaktapur.

SAIM College Principal Ashok Raj Pandey announced during a press meet on Monday that the teams will be divided into eight groups, with matches being played in a league-cum-knockout format. According to him, the event aims to help students build their capabilities, and the college is fully committed to supporting such student-driven activities.

The winners of the tournament will receive cash prizes of Rs. 90,000, Rs. 40,000, and Rs. 20,000 for first, second, and third places respectively. Individual awards include Rs. 5,000 for the best player, and Rs. 3,000 each along with gift vouchers for the best defender, top scorer, and best goalkeeper. The best coach will receive a trophy and a gift voucher.

SAIM Vice Principal Bishal Shrestha shared that the total estimated cost for organizing the tournament is around Rs. 5.5 lakh. The title sponsor for the event is Hisense. Other sponsors include Ather Energy, Pathao Nepal, UPS Nepal, Medex Multi Specialty Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Park Village Resort, Surya Nepal, Jasmine Paints, and Ben Nevis.

Tournament Coordinator Dasharath Shahi stated that SAIM has already successfully hosted five editions of its intra-college cricket event, the SAIM Premier League. This marks the college’s first entry into organizing a futsal event, expanding its commitment to student engagement through sports.
