Hora Esports has officially qualified for the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025, becoming the only team from Nepal to earn a spot in the tournament. The global event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 25 to August 23, as part of the broader Esports World Cup.
Held in Kazakhstan, the PMSL Central and South Asia (CSA) saw fierce competition from 20 top teams. Among them, three Nepali teams—Hora Esports, DRS Gaming, and Tribe Aeromacy—participated. While all three advanced to the final stage, only Hora Esports managed to finish in the top three and qualify for the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025.
Mongolia’s Alpha Gaming took the first spot with 170 points. Hora Esports followed in second with 139 points, and Pakistan’s 4Thrives Esports secured third with 137 points. These three teams now move on to the global stage.
Although DRS Gaming and AST Esports couldn’t make it to the top three this time, they still showed strong performances, finishing 11th and 10th respectively. DRS had previously finished second in the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) held in Indonesia, marking Nepal’s best result in PUBG history.
A total of 24 teams will compete in the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025. They will be divided into three groups, with the top 8 advancing directly to the Grand Finals. The bottom 16 will play in the Survival Stage, and from there, another 8 teams will move to the Grand Finals. In the end, 16 teams will compete for the championship title.
The total prize pool for the PUBG Mobile event is set at $3 million, with the entire Esports World Cup offering over $70 million, up from $62.5 million last year.
Adding more star power, Cristiano Ronaldo has been appointed the brand ambassador for the Esports World Cup. His involvement is expected to boost the event’s global appeal and visibility.
Hora Esports owner Sanjan Gautam, popularly known as Cr7 Horaa, expressed pride in his team’s performance. “We aimed for a top-three finish, and we made it. In fact, during the last two matches, we were even close to winning the title,” Gautam said. “The players gave their best and gained valuable experience for the future.”
