FIFA Club World Cup Last 16 qualification has been sealed by Manchester City and Juventus after dominant wins in Group G on Monday.
Manchester City crushed Al Ain FC 6-0 in the early match. Ilkay Gündoğan scored twice, while Claudio Echeverri, Erling Haaland, Oscar Bobb, and Rayan Cherki each contributed a goal, confirming City’s smooth entry into the next round with two wins from two games.
Later in the evening, Juventus defeated Wydad AC 4-1. Kenan Yildiz netted two goals, Dusan Vlahovic scored one, and the fourth came via an own goal. Thembinkosi Lorch scored the lone goal for Wydad in the 25th minute.
With two wins each, both Manchester City and Juventus now sit at the top of Group G with 6 points and have qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup Last 16. Al Ain and Wydad, on the other hand, are eliminated from the tournament.
The upcoming match between City and Juventus will determine the Group G winner.
